Our twin coil and triple coil solar high efficiency insulated cylinders are specifically designed to work in conjunction with the domestic heating system. These cylinders are manufactured with either two or three independent coils. One or two to transfer heat from an independent heating source, (eg central heating boiler or solid fuel). And the other, which is manufactured from high efficiency finned tube with a high heating surface, to transfer heat from the solar panels.

These high efficiency cylinders are superior products with the coils having more surface area, making them more efficient, than most manufacturers. In this respect like most products you get what you pay for and we have selected these cylinders because of their quality and effectiveness.

The boiler coil which ( if fitted ) is manufactured to BS 1566 and can be fitted with 28mm compression connections or 22 mm compression connections. The high efficiency solar coil can be fitted with 22 mm compression or 15mm compression. We normally fit 22mm compression fittings to the heating coils and 15mm compression fittings to the solar coil

We can supply vented and unvented cylinders. Unvented cylinders are used to supply mains pressure hot water - although it is an expensive option. A more cost effective method is to use a 'thermal coil' - this is a high efficiency coil situated at the top of the tank, which heats mains pressure water as it is required. The thermal coil can be fitted to a standard copper cylinder.

When measuring for a solar cylinder, please remember to account for the double thickness of insulation (50mm)- This adds 100mm to the total tank diameter.
